How does the jacket change colour?
SPLASHRIDE™ uses a water-reactive outer fabric. Dry, it's black. The moment a drop hits it, the colour shows right there: a drizzle makes spots, a downpour reveals the whole jacket.
Does it only work with rain?
The reaction is triggered by liquid water: rain, drizzle, spray, a hose… Humidity in the air or sweat is not enough: in dry weather it stays black.
Does it go back to black?
Yes. As it dries the fabric turns black again and the effect comes back with every shower. Nothing to charge, nothing to reset.
Does it protect me in a crash?
No, and we won't pretend it does. SPLASHRIDE™ is a rain jacket, not protective equipment: wear it over your armored motorcycle jacket, or as a mid-layer. Always keep your armor on.
